Readastic and these terms

Readastic is provided by Reostack Technologies, Nigeria. These terms cover your use of Readastic and this website. Contact support@readastic.com with questions. Our privacy policy explains data handling.

Readastic’s first release is free and requires no Readastic account. We may change features or introduce optional paid products in the future; any purchase would have its own disclosed terms. These terms do not create a subscription or authorize a charge.

Your content and permitted use

You retain your rights in the content you import. Use Readastic only for content you own or are authorized to access and process. Importing an article does not grant you copyright, distribution rights or permission to bypass a publisher’s restrictions.

Do not use the app to infringe rights, evade access controls, process unlawful content or disrupt services. You are responsible for your text and for checking the permissions and terms of any publisher or provider you connect to. Readastic does not host a public user-content network.

Narration and external services

Generated narration is AI speech. Pronunciation, timing, wording extraction and playback may be imperfect. Check the original source when accuracy matters; narration is not a substitute for professional advice or the source document.

Local models may require substantial downloads, storage and processing time. Optional cloud narration uses your own API key and sends reviewed text to your chosen provider. Your provider’s pricing, limits, terms and privacy practices apply. You are responsible for provider charges; Readastic’s usage and cost displays are informational, and estimates may differ from your provider’s bill.

Publishers, model hosting and cloud services may become unavailable or change their behavior. We cannot guarantee their availability. Do not share API keys with other users or include them in support requests.

Software and open-source licenses

You may use Readastic for its intended purpose subject to these terms and the applicable app-store license. For the iOS release, Apple’s standard licensed application agreement applies unless the App Store listing supplies a different license.

Third-party runtimes, models and other open-source components retain their own licenses and restrictions. Their notices are available through the app. These terms do not limit rights granted by those licenses.

Backups and availability

Your library is stored locally. Keep your own backups of important content. Removing app data, changing devices or restoring an older backup can affect your library. Archiving an article keeps it until you choose to delete it.

We may improve, change or discontinue parts of the service. To the extent permitted by applicable law, the app is provided as available without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation or error-free narration. Nothing here excludes mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms when the service changes. Material changes will be communicated through an appropriate app or website notice. If you have a concern, contact support@readastic.com. Applicable mandatory laws and consumer protections continue to apply.
